Administrative Core

The Administrative Core is responsible for the overall management and support of Center activities.  Monthly Executive Committee meetings are held with Center Core Research Core Directors and Research Project Principal Investigators to ensure coordination across center activities.  The Center is comprised of four other cores: Research Core, Research Training Core, Community Engagement Core, and the Environmental Core.

Specific Aims

  • Specific Aim 1:  Establish an trans-disciplinary, inter-institutional collaborative NCMHD Health Disparities Research Center of Excellence at Meharry Medical College. 
  • Specific Aim 2:  Establish an institutional infra-structure that facilitates trans-disciplinary health disparities and translational research.  
  • Specific Aim 3:  Establish a formal, minority health disparities research training program at Meharry Medical College to train graduate students, residents, and faculty from partner institutions and community members in health disparities and translational research.  
  • Specific Aim 4:  Establish and maintain structures and processes for engaging community participation in research and research training on health disparities related conditions.
